Green- office stock in six big cities of the country has increased by 36.25% to 342 million square feet since 2019. In 2019 it was 251 million square feet. Currently, Bengaluru has the highest number of 30% green- certified office buildings. After this, Delhi- NCR is at second place with 21% share and Mumbai is at third place with 17% share. This is followed by Hyderabad (15%), Chennai (9%) and Pune (8%).
According to a joint report by global commercial real estate services consultancy firm CBRE and industry body CII, Bengaluru, Delhi- NCR and Mumbai together account for 68% of the green certified office stock in the country. Its stock has increased by 7.1% annually for five years.
Green building focuses on the environment
• Environment is taken care of in design, construction and maintenance. • Such buildings contribute significantly in reducing pollution by saving resources like electricity and water. Green building is being promoted all over the world for environmental protection.
Demand for flexi office increased in medium cities
Co- working companies are offering flexi offices in medium and small cities. In big cities, their fare is Rs 4,000-12,000 per seat per month, while in small cities it is only Rs 90-1,500.
