The Union Cabinet for Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved 12 new industrial smart cities in the country. These 12 industrial smart cities spread across 10 states and adjacent to six major corridors will prove to be an important leap in promoting manufacturing. The government will invest Rs 28,602 crore on these under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, India will soon have a grand necklace of industrial smart cities on the backbone of the Golden Quadrilateral. These will create 10 lakh direct and 30 lakh indirect jobs. These projects will generate investment potential of Rs 1.52 lakh crore. Ujjain The work of 10 industrial smart cities was started in the country. Of these, a total of 4 smart cities in the country including Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain have been fully developed. More than 93 industries took land in Vikram Udyogpuri of Ujjain. There is a total of 1133 acres of land here.
This industrial city was developed in two parts. First-Vikram Udyogpuri. A total of 467 acres of land has been allotted to 57 industries here. An investment of Rs 6000 crore is being made. Second Medical Device Park. Here 36 industries are being set up on 100 acres of land. Now there is no land left for industries. Therefore another industrial area is proposed.
