Udyan, digital library will be built, common parking of library and auditorium will be built along with metro, the cost of the project will be Rs 1.5 crore.

Navgrah Garden and parking land in front of Government Ahilya Central Library located on MG Road will now be handed over to the Metro Project. A metro station will be built here and there will also be parking for the metro itself. The Pritamlal Dua auditorium located here will also be renovated. One and a half crore rupees have been sanctioned for this. An amount of Rs 50 lakh will be given in the first installment.

These decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner and Library Consultative Committee Chairman Deepak Singh. In the meeting, Collector Ashish Singh talked about giving an amount of Rs 25 lakh through Red Cross.

The proposal to create a digital library by the smart city was agreed to by the committee. Committee member MP Shankar Lalwani, Collector Ashish Singh, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Shivam Verma, IDA CEO RP Ahirwar, Committee Vice President Krishnakumar Asthana, art and culture workers and members Jayant Bhise, Anil Bhandari were present in the meeting. It was told in the meeting that under the metro project, the Navgraha Nakshatra Udyan located in the library premises will be used instead of the metro station and its parking. The Divisional Commissioner said that along with metro parking, it should be made common parking for the library and auditorium. In return, revenue for the library will also be taken from the metro.

Consent to create a special study room

As the number of children appearing for competitive exams increased, it was also agreed to create a special study room here. The amount for this will be given by MP Nidhi and Indore Gaurav Foundation. Along with this, it was also agreed to hold lectures in the library every month and to organize events throughout the year on the 300th birth anniversary of Mata Ahilya. The Divisional Commissioner said that more and more youth should be connected to the library.
