Housing Board will hold direct discussion on February 25, 10% land will be reserved for green belt along with residential project on the remaining land.

The fight of the workers of Hukumch Mill continued for a long time and finally, on the orders of the High Court, their deposits were arranged by the Housing Board and other liabilities were also settled and in return, the Board got 42 acres of the mill’s land, in which the corporation will also have a stake, because basically the Municipal Corporation is the owner of the land. Now the Housing Board has invited developers and builders of the real estate sector to build shopping malls, hotels, multiplexes, IT parks and other high-rise buildings on the mill’s 25.40 acres of commercial land. On February 25, interested developers will be able to submit their proposals and also have a direct discussion, which has been organized in the form of a pre-bid meeting, in which their suggestions will also be included and this project will also be presented in the Global Investors Summit organized in Bhopal. Apart from the residential project on the remaining land of the mill, a green belt will also be developed in 10 percent of the land.

The change of land use of Hukum Chand Mill was also done by the Town and Country Investment on the orders of the High Court, because before this Mumbai DRT had tried several times to auction the land online, but apart from liabilities, there were several other problems with the corporation’s claim including industrial land use, due to which the auction could not take place. On the other hand, more than 5 thousand workers of Hukum Chand Mill continued to struggle to get their deposited capital and while hearing the petitions filed by them, the High Court got the land use changed and also directed the government to make arrangements for the deposited capital of the workers, due to which the Housing Board was prepared and it spent an amount of Rs 500 crore.

A cheque of Rs. 10000 was deposited in the High Court, from which, apart from the workers’ deposits, the liabilities of banks and other financial institutions were also settled and after that, 42 acres of land of Hukum Chand Mill was freed from the clutches of DRT and on the other hand, an MoU was also signed between the corporation and the Housing Board regarding this land. Now the board has started the process of EOI i.e. Expression of Interest to use this land, in which proposals have been invited from real estate developers for 25.40 acres of commercial land. According to Housing Board Executive Engineer Rajkumar Bhasne, there will be a direct discussion with the developers on February 25 and their suggestions will also be taken. This pre-bid will be held at Hotel Country Yard Marriot in Bhopal.

A meeting has been scheduled. Along with this, the projects coming up on the land of Hukum Chand Mill are also being showcased in the summit organized in Bhopal, so that investors coming from all over the country can also know about it. While commercial buildings will be built on 25 acres, residential projects will come up on the remaining land, in which high-rise buildings will also be constructed and green belt will be developed on 10 percent of the land. It is also worth mentioning that the land of Hukum Chand Mill is located in the middle of the city, from where the airport is just 9 kilometers away, while the railway station and bus stand are just one kilometer away. This land can be used for good commercial and residential projects.
