Discussion on Metro City, PS in Bhopal saw the initial plan of the metropolitan region, situation analysis draft will be prepared in the next phase.

The preliminary draft prepared for the Indore Metropolitan Region (IMR) which is being formed to include different parts of Indore, Ujjain, Dhar, Dewas was discussed in Bhopal on Monday. Senior officials discussed this with Sanjay Shukla, Principal Secretary of Urban Administration Department, IDA and Consultant. It has to be decided how much boundaries of which district should be included in the draft. After this, it will be decided what kind of planning should be done for which area. The entire process will take 6 to 9 months.
At present the Principal Secretary has he said that discussions are still going on about internal detailing. Earlier, two options were made for the metropolitan region. Later, after the CM’s wish, its area is being expanded. Its purpose is to develop a complete corridor by connecting Indore, Ujjain, Dewas and surrounding areas, so that this region gets the benefit of DMIC connectivity. Apart from 100 percent of Indore, areas of Ujjain, Dhar, Dewas, Shajapur will be included in the plan in different percentages. It is still to be decided whether to include some parts of Dhar and Ujjain or not?
The final decision will be taken by the Chief Minister and the people’s representatives of the area
In this matter, the opinion of the Chief Minister, the ministers in charge of these districts and the public representatives will be final. The consultant has to prepare the complete plan of the metropolitan area in 9 months. However, there is a condition that the consulting agency should first submit separate reports including situation analysis. This work will be completed in 9 months only if the OK is received from the departments on time at every stage.
Decision keeping in view Simhastha 2028
* To create a metropolitan area, different tehsils and bodies of the districts have to be taken. Their data, population, established industries and specialty of the area will also be studied.
* First a draft of situation analysis will be prepared.
After this, the geographical, economic, religious and social situation of the place will be assessed. Which industry is there where, what kind of needs are there, a blueprint will also be made for that.
* Since Simhastha is proposed in 2028, work will be done on the proposed projects and possibilities of Ujjain and Dewas along with Indore in this area. After the area is decided, the agency will also give a possible draft plan.
* Once the area is decided, a Regional Development Authority will also be formed.
