Urban Administration and Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, in addition to touring the city today to address important issues, also scheduled a meeting at the Metro Depot. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, MPs, MLAs, and department officials will be present with the minister. The meeting will also discuss the Metro’s underground route and view a presentation from the Metro Corporation. The inspection will begin at 12 noon today at Radisson Square.
Minister Vijayvargiya has been repeatedly calling for changes to the metro’s underground route, and this is why work on the underground route hasn’t begun for the past 16 months. The Metro Corporation has already awarded a contract worth approximately ₹2,200 crore for this 8.5-kilometer route. Currently, some underground work has begun on the airport side, while the project from Khajrana to Palasia, MG Road, and Rajwada remains complicated. Today, at 12 noon, the Minister, along with all the MLAs, public representatives, and administrative officials, began inspecting the metro work from Radisson Square. The Authority, Metro Corporation, Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department, and MPRDC, which are responsible for the project, are:

It is noteworthy that in the last meeting also, Minister Shri Vijayvargiya had reprimanded the officials and the consultant firm regarding the underground route of the Metro and had objected to the finalization of the underground route from the drawing design to the underground route without thinking.
