The contract has been awarded for ₹1,089 crore and will be constructed by a Ludhiana-based company. The construction of this corridor is considered crucial in view of the Simhastha festival, which is why the government recently approved over ₹2,000 crore for it. While farmers are protesting against land acquisition, the administration is also in constant discussions with them. Land will be acquired for the construction of this corridor in Indore as well as Ujjain districts. This includes land from 20 villages in Indore and 8 villages in Ujjain. The land acquisition process for this 48-kilometer-long greenfield corridor is currently underway under Section 21.

In this, land of 2 tehsils of Indore district is being acquired. According to SDM Ghanshyam Dhangar, for the acquisition of the lands to be acquired earlier, publication was done under Section 19, in which ownership, area of land, description of the land was made public and on its basis other processes including hearing are going on. The existing four-lane Indore-Ujjain section is currently being converted into a six-lane road, with work progressing rapidly, which is why traffic remains blocked. This is why people traveling from Indore to Ujjain have begun using the new four-lane road beyond the Kshipra, which runs to Kota. This four-lane road has reduced traffic congestion, and travelers traveling from Bhopal can also use it while traveling to Ujjain.
