The Public Works Department will construct a new road from Rajiv Gandhi Statue Square to Rau Rotary. This work will cost ₹7 crore. The white-topping method will be used for this project.
The road from Rajiv Gandhi Statue Square to Rau has deteriorated significantly. Area MLA Madhu Verma made numerous efforts to improve the road, but the conditions at any location were too poor to allow for road construction. The Indore Municipal Corporation’s financial situation is so dire that even when it issues a tender for road construction, contractors are unable to find a solution.
PWD will do the construction, will make the road with white topping.
They are unwilling to take on the work. These contractors understand that they will complete the work now, but no one can tell them when they will receive their payments. The Indore Development Authority has allocated so many projects under the non-plan head.
So much work is being done that there’s no room for any new work. Consequently, the MLA has requested the Public Works Department to repair the area’s damaged roads.
The decision was taken. A proposal for the construction of this road was prepared and sent to the headquarters of the Public Works Department, from where the road has been approved. According to this proposal, this 1.30 kilometer long road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.97 crore. This road will be built using the white topping method. The place where this road is being constructed was earlier under National Highway 03 and was called Agra-Mumbai National Highway. After the construction of this road was approved, the foundation stone of this road was laid yesterday by MP Shankar Lalwani, MLA Madhu Verma, besides Jitu Jirati, Shravan Singh Chavda and BJP leaders.
