The nationwide scheme was started in 2021, the project is to end next year.

In some places, only 3-5 percent of the work has been completed under the project, while in others, only 77 percent has been completed.

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0, also known as AMRUT 2.01, was launched in conjunction with the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure tap water is delivered to every household in all cities and towns. Furthermore, the remaining work from AMRUT 1.0 was to be completed through a gap assessment.

This project began nationwide in 2020-21. Its deadline is 2025-26. The state received ₹4,045 crore for this project. In the Indore division, 41 projects worth ₹237.671 crore were approved. According to a report submitted to the Additional Chief Secretary in late September, the project has been completed only in Badnawar, Dhar. Work is still ongoing in 34 municipalities.

In some areas, the project has been completed only 3 to 5%, while in others, it has been completed up to 77%. In some municipalities, no work was proposed under this project. In Indore district, seven out of ten projects were approved, covering nine municipalities and the Cantonment area. Of these, no work was proposed in Betma, Depalpur, and Gautampura. Work orders are yet to be issued in Mhow Cantonment.

The process of signing agreements for rural areas is underway in Indore tehsil. In the five other municipalities, only 35% of the work has been completed in Manpur, 48% in Hatod, 45% in Sanwer, 10% in Mahagaon, and 5% in Rau.

Status of the division: 25% work done in Maheshwar and 26% in Jhabua

Nine out of 11 municipalities in Dhar district were included. Work was completed only in Badnawar. Pithampur reported 28% completion, Dahi 77%, Dharampuri 45%, Rajgarh 18%, Sardarpur 75%, Dhar 5%, and Manawar 3%. No work was proposed in Dhamnod and Mandav areas of the district.

In Khandwa district, five out of six municipalities were included. Except for Chhanera, 50% work has been completed in Mundi, 50% in Unkareshwar, 82% in Khandwa, 35% in Pandhana, and 25% in Punasa.

Of the three areas in Burhanpur, only Burhanpur city was included. The project was not proposed in Nepanagar and Shahpur.

Five out of nine municipalities in Khargone were considered. Of these, 25% work was completed in Maheshwar, 30% in Mandleshwar, 31% in Bikangaon, 49% in Bistan, and 7% in Sanawad. No projects were considered in Khargone city, Karahi-Padlya Barwah, and Kasrawad.

Seven out of nine municipal bodies or municipal councils in Barwani were selected. Of these, Palsud received 8% work, Barwani 3%, Sendhwa 6%, Thikri 34%, and Anjad 5%. The project has already been handed over in Khetia. It was not proposed in Pansemal and Rajpur. The tender process is ongoing in Niwali Buzurg.

Jhabua also included four out of five municipalities. Except for Petlawad, Ranapur has 51% work, Jhabua 26%, Meghnagar 41%, and Thandla 5%.

Alirajpur’s three municipalities were taken in two. Except for Bhabra, the work has been completed in Jobat at 25% and in Alirajpur at 65%.

AMRUT 2.0 Sewerage: Six bodies taken up, work has begun in two, the process is still underway in four

Under the mission, proposals were sought for water supply as well as sewer network. A total of 6 proposals were received in the division. Pithampur-Khandwa were included in the two proposals that were accepted. The progress on both is 2%. Survey work is currently underway. Two projects were approved in Indore. These include Indore-Sanwer. The matter is entangled in agreement and financial approval. Tenders have been called in Burhanpur, while the agreement process is underway in Khargone.

This was the main objective of Amrit Mission 2.0

AMRUT Mission 2.0 is a central government scheme launched on October 1, 2021. Its objective is to make urban areas self-sufficient and water-secure. The main goals of the scheme were to provide universal coverage of tap water supply in all statutory towns and sewerage/septage management in 500 AMRUT cities.
