The authority has deposited the amount for shifting the lines, the tender for the 3-lane flyover has also been approved.

The authority is constructing a flyover at Bada Ganpati Square at a cost of 23.5 crore rupees. However, before that, the Narmada drainage lines will have to be shifted through the Municipal Corporation, for which the authority has already handed over more than 3 crore rupees to the corporation, and a total of 8 to 9 crore rupees will be given to the corporation for this. An underground metro station will also be built at Bada Ganpati, which has been opposed by residents and shopkeepers. However, the Metro Corporation says that the work will be done underground, so there will be no problems above ground. However, due to all the development work happening simultaneously, traffic will remain blocked at Bada Ganpati Square for a long time.

Although the authority has conducted surveys for flyovers at a dozen intersections, flyovers are also being constructed under its TPS projects. However, since the appointment of a new CEO, the pace of work has slowed, as the new officer has limited knowledge of the city. The authority approved the tender for the Bada Ganpati flyover, and when information about drainage and Narmada line shifting emerged, it was decided to have the work done through the Municipal Corporation. The corporation has also demanded an additional sum of 10 to 12 crore rupees from the authority.

This was also done. Currently, the authority has recently given an amount of Rs 3 crore to start the line shifting work. The road will have to be dug up for shifting the Narmada and drainage lines passing through the intersection. Also, the Metro Corporation is going to start the underground metro work on the warehouse land at this intersection and also construct a station. Due to this, there will be a traffic jam in and around Bada Ganpati intersection for a long time, because the traffic will have to be diverted to the streets and localities connected to it. It is also important to note that the authority started the flyover construction about a year ago.

With the approval of the tender, its work order has also been issued and the flyover was to be constructed in 18 months, the deadline for which will end in May 2026, whereas the corporation has not even started the work of shifting the lines on the spot. As a result, the authority will now have to give more time to the contractor firm RCC Infra Project India Pvt. Ltd. The length of this flyover will be 543 meters and width 12 meters i.e. 3 lanes. The length towards Khalsa College will be 122 meters, the length of the viaduct towards Jinsi Chauraha will be 125 meters. However, the authority has constructed 4 and 6 lane flyovers at most of the intersections.

Only these have been proposed. But since the width of Bada Ganpati Road is less, hence only Shri Lane flyover will be constructed here. The authority will also construct a similar Shri Lane railway overbridge at MR-12 Kailodhala and next to it, another 3 lane overbridge will be constructed by the Public Works Department. Actually, earlier the authority itself had planned a six lane flyover and had also taken permission for it from the Railways. But on the other hand, the Public Works Department, without consulting any other department, prepared the project of Shri Lane flyover and approved its tenders.
