28 kilometer long section is to be widened

Indore.

The survey for converting the 28 km long stretch of Indore-Nemawar Road from two lanes to four lanes is almost complete. By the end of November, its detailed project report (DPR) will be received by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, which will be studied and sent to the state government in December.

Under the project, there is a plan to widen the 28 km long section from Devguradia junction of Indore bypass. This road is to be widened from Indore to Raghogarh. Currently, this road is with the National Highways Authority of India, but the authority is building a new four-lane greenfield highway from MR 10 junction from Indore to Raghogarh. After that, the part of the Devguradia road till Raghogarh will be handed over to MPRDC. In the same sequence, the department has planned to widen the road. Officials believe that despite the construction of a new highway, the traffic on the existing old road will not decrease.

Preparation to build toll road

MPRDC is planning to work on a toll based system to convert Indore-Radhaugarh two lane road into a four lane. This will help the department to earn money and the road will also be maintained. In the DPR, along with checking its viability, data and records related to obstructing constructions, encroachments, electric poles, transformers and trees, as well as private and government land required for widening have been collected. The work of preparing the DPR of Indore-Depalpur and Indore-Radhaugarh four lane has been assigned to the same consultant agency.
