Preparations have begun to run a metro train between Indore and Ujjain. In a cabinet committee meeting held in Bhopal on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, it was decided that a DPR (Detailed Project Report) of the metro will be prepared from Indore’s Lavkush Square to Ujjain. This work has been assigned to Delhi Rail Metro Cooperation. Two months have been given to prepare the DPR. During this time, the feasibility report and alignment of the proposed project will be evaluated. Along with this, it will also be assessed whether this project is profitable.

After this, 6 to 7 stations are likely to be built till Ujjain via Dharampuri, Sambar, Ninaura. Due to this, all the villages till Ujjain will also get the benefit of metro in future. In the meeting, Rs 5882 crore was approved for 19 construction works for the convenience of about 15 crore devotees arriving in Simhastha-2028.

The work is going on from Gandhi Nagar Square to Robot Square via Super Corridor, Lakkush Square, MR-10, Sukhliya, Radisson. Metro for Ujjain is to start from Lakkush Square. In such a situation, this will become a big metro junction. In view of Simhastha, the government is trying to run the metro till Ujjain by 2028. Lakkush
Proposals have been received for 568 works. The estimated cost of these construction works is Rs 15567 crore. These construction works include works such as departmental, Simhastha item and BOT.
