This year’s budget focuses on infrastructure while emphasizing the expansion of ongoing projects. Metro train operations, the Indore–Pithampur Economic Corridor, Elevated Corridor, ring road development, Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Highway, and railway overbridge–related projects have been included in the budget. Provision has also been made for developing an IT and Industrial Park. If the Municipal Corporation wants to increase revenue, it will need to take steps toward making its units self-reliant. The Metropolitan Region Development Authority was given the first budget last year, which has now been increased.
For transportation, along with the operation of the Metro train, the network of PM e-buses will also be expanded. Approval has been given for 972 buses. Out of these, 472 e-buses are being operated in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar, and Ujjain. Preparations are also underway to restart the city bus service. There is also a plan to connect Indore to Rewa and Chitrakoot through air routes.
