CM’s meeting today on the theme of Indore’s new era for city development.
Several important matters will be decided at a meeting on Indore’s development, to be chaired by the Chief Minister at the Brilliant Convention Center on Sunday. Among these, the Indore Metropolitan Authority’s jurisdiction may be expanded from 9,989.69 square kilometers to 14,000 square kilometers. A large portion of Shajapur will also be included in this area. A decision will also be made on the underground metro.
The theme of the meeting is ‘New Era of Indore’. Under this theme, 20 important issues related to city development like making Indore a future-ready and IT-integrated city will be discussed in the meeting. The proposal for Indore Metropolitan Region (IMR) will now be expanded to create a new metropolitan region for Indore and Bhopal. The new Indore Metropolitan area will include a large part of Dhar, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Maksi-Shajapur. Earlier, only two villages of Maksi were included in it.

After Indore, the Bhopal region will begin. After NHAI refused to fund the construction of four-lane service roads (on both sides) of the bypass for more than 35 km, the corporation will now undertake this work by taking a loan. An agreement can also be reached on this. An important issue will be the roads of the master plan, which will be discussed. Sources say that some public representatives want to reduce the width proposed in the master plan. However, the administration and corporation officials are not in favor of this. In such a situation, the CM will take the final decision on this. According to sources, the CM will separately review the police commissioner system on December 24 or sometime after that. According to the administration, the CM will arrive in Indore at 10:30 am and will remain there till 4 pm.
Government will decide the amount of metro
The underground metro route will be approved. The government will also decide how the funds will be received.
- A decision will be made on the bypass’s service road. The corporation will build it using a loan. In return, it will collect taxes from the remaining 22.5 meters of mixed land use.

Public representatives want to reduce the width of some roads. However, officials are not in favor of this. The Chief Minister will make the final decision on this matter.
- Several other proposals, including the war on drugs, will be discussed.

First meeting as in-charge, approval of many projects
The banks of the Kanh-Saraswati River will be developed as a riverfront during the meeting. Although the proposal is old, it is being presented to the Chief Minister afresh. A key point of the meeting is that this is the Chief Minister’s first meeting as Minister-in-Charge. Therefore, Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi is in charge of this meeting. The theme of making Indore a future-ready, IT-integrated city was also decided there. Key points include projects like cloud computing.
