Passenger operations are currently suspended, with trial runs completed at all 16 stations and the remaining work now pending completion.

The 17-kilometer elevated Metro corridor is currently being prepared for passenger operations, and a team from Delhi will likely arrive by the end of this month to test safety standards. Only after that will passenger operations be permitted on the entire corridor. Continuous trial runs have been successfully conducted at all 16 stations, and a mega block has been implemented to ensure the remaining work is completed within the stipulated timeframe. Due to this, metro train operations are currently suspended on the 6-kilometer Priority Corridor, which will continue until January 25th. However, this section is also experiencing a significant shortage of passengers.

An elevated corridor is being constructed from Gandhi Nagar to MR-10 Vijay Nagar and Radisson Square and beyond to Khajrana Square. Passenger operations are expected to begin on the 17-kilometer stretch up to Radisson Square in the next three to four months. Consequently, all 16 stations along this stretch are also being prepared. Elevated work is underway from Radisson Square to Khajrana Square, and due to the need for an underground route beyond that, the elevated work has been halted for the time being, and a new survey of the underground section will be conducted. This is why the Metro Corporation has currently decided to extend the work to the airport.

Underground work has been initiated by the Indore Metro Rail Corporation (INDM), and preparations have begun for the construction of underground stations at the Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Shivaji Market, Regal Square, and other locations. The 6-kilometer section currently serving passenger traffic has also been temporarily suspended. Testing and commissioning work is progressing rapidly along the entire priority corridor of the Indore Metro Rail (from Gandhi Nagar to Malviya Nagar (Radisson Square) Square (all 16 stations), with the aim of completing construction soon. Trial runs are being successfully conducted on the entire Priority Corridor (all 16 stations) up to the station. Soon, extensive testing will be required on the entire Priority Corridor (all 16 stations), including the currently operational section. The timetable will be effective from Friday, January 11, 2026. The revised operation will operate on all days of the week, Monday to Sunday, from Gandhi Nagar station at 3 pm and from Super Corridor-03 station at 3:25 pm.
