The work on the Metro project is progressing rapidly on the elevated corridor, but the issue of the underground route is still complicated. Especially after Khajrana crossing. Yesterday, the Metro Corporation conducted a successful trial run from Gandhi Nagar to Malviya Nagar crossing and now this 17 the kilometre track is being prepared for commercial operation.

The stations up to Malviya Nagar Square will be ready by the end of November, in which signalling work along with some civil work is currently underway and after that the safety inspection process will also be completed, for which the team of Metro Rail Safety Commissioner i.e. CRMS will also come to Indore, which will check the operation, speed, emergency brake and other safety standards and only after the completion of this inspection and getting the approval of CRMS, the metro will be started.

Commercial operations can be started from Gandhi Nagar to Malviya Nagar Square i.e. Radisson. CRMS had also conducted a safety audit for the 6 kilometer corridor on which commercial operations are currently underway and only after its approval, commercial operations of the metro train in Indore started a few months ago. Officials associated with the Metro Corporation say that from Gandhi Nagar to Radisson, 17 Civil work on the 100-kilometer elevated track being built is nearly complete. Some station work remains. There are 16 stations along this entire track, most of which are fully completed. Civil work remains at some later stations, which will be completed by the end of November. After that, the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner’s team will arrive in Indore, likely by the end of December, to inspect safety standards.
