The master plan has 100-foot roads, and keeping the future in mind, the corporation has changed the plan.

Indore.

The corporation is going to widen the years old bridge connecting Palasia to Industry House and earlier there were plans to widen the bridge by 60 feet, but now the corporation has changed the plan and it will be widened to 100 feet as per the standards of the roads in the master plan, so that there is no problem in the future.

The Municipal Corporation initially commissioned a survey of the bridge, conducted by its own experts and a team from SGSITS, to assess its condition. The report found the bridge to be in good condition, and as a result, the corporation decided to relocate there.

There were plans to widen the bridge to 60 feet by laying slabs in the surrounding areas. Currently, the bridge is only 20 to 22 feet wide, which is why traffic jams occur on the bridge every day. When Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and Public Works Committee in-charge Rajendra Rathore discussed various issues with the officials, they learned that all the roads in the surrounding areas are 100 feet wide, and as per the master plan, it has now been agreed to widen the bridge to 100 feet instead of 60. According to the officials, the bridge is to be constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore, but now the width of the roads in the surrounding areas is 40 feet each.

The parts will be laid by laying slabs and the corporation will pay the additional expenditure from various heads. As the bridge is 100 feet wide, there will be no problem in the future, otherwise if it was 60 feet wide, many changes would have to be made in the bridge later. Since this bridge from Palasia to Industry House is the main bridge connecting AB Road and there is a lot of pressure of vehicles on it throughout the day. Currently, during the ongoing work there, the traffic will not be disrupted and slabs will be laid by making pillars in the surrounding areas and along with this, the parts of the bridge will also be repaired.
