2026 brings new hopes for development. Several projects in the city, including employment, IT, transport, traffic ease, and healthcare, will be completed in the new year. Of the 31-kilometer metro line, 17 kilometers will be operational this year. A double-decker flyover will be built at Lavkush Square, along with a six-story, 300-bed hospital in the western region. Many new companies will arrive, new expansions will take place, and modern amenities will be available.
Metro and city transport
Metro will run from TCS to Radisson Square and Shaheed Park.
Construction of a 31-km metro ring route is underway in Indore. The 17-km elevated route is nearly complete. Starting in June 2025, the metro will operate on the 6-km route from Gandhinagar to TCS on the Super Corridor. Metro operations from TCS to Radisson Square and Shaheed Park will begin by March 2026. The completion of the entire route is scheduled for 2028.

Lavkush Flyover: Paving the way for Ujjain Super Corridor
The state’s first double-decker flyover is being constructed at Lavkush Square, which will be completed by March 2026. Its construction will ease the journey to Ujjain and the Super Corridor.
To reach the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, one must take this flyover. During Simhastha, millions of people will pass through this flyover.

Laxmibai Railway Station will be ready in February
Railway facilities in the city are being expanded in preparation for the Simhastha festival to be held in 2028. For this, the capacity of the main railway station as well as the Laxmibai Nagar railway station is being expanded.

Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service
The state government is launching the Chief Minister’s Sugam Parivahan Seva to facilitate passenger transportation. It will begin operations in the city in April-May 2026. Like the state transport system, this service will operate under complete government control on a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The plan is to operate over 1,700 buses from Indore on 771 routes across the division, state, and interstate.

IT Park-4: 11-storey building will provide employment to 1500 people
Plug-and-play spaces are being provided to IT companies under the Ready to Move scheme. Under this initiative, IT Park 4 is being constructed in the Pardeshipura area. MPIDC is scheduled to open its doors in March 2026. The park will be built at a cost of ₹48 crore (480 million rupees). The 11-story building will have parking and modern facilities for IT companies. It will employ more than 1,500 IT professionals.

Readymade garment complex to be built in 8 lakh square feet
A new 800,000-square-foot plug-and-play complex is being constructed by the MPIDC at the Readymade Garment Complex in Pardeshipura. The city will be inaugurated in 2026. This complex will provide employment to 7,500 people.
