Currently, the existing four-lane from Indore to Ujjain is being converted into a six-lane and road widening work has also started on the spot. At the same time, another new four-lane is being built from Indore Airport to Chintaman Ganesh in Ujjain via Pitru Parvat, Hatod, whose total length is 48 kilometers and it is estimated to cost around Rs 1370 crore. This new four-lane will also be connected to Indore-Ahmedabad Road, which will make it easier for devotees coming from outside to go to Ujjain. Those coming from Ahmedabad, Dhar, Mumbai currently have to reach MR-10, Lavkush Chauraha and then go to Ujjain.
In view of Simhastha-2028, efforts are being made to make the movement from Indore to Ujjain smooth, because crores of devotees will arrive from the country and abroad and Indore will be its main center. This new four-lane is being prepared as per the wishes of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, which was approved in the cabinet meeting recently and now the tender process is being started along with preparing the drawing design, DPR. It is estimated that Rs 1370 crore will be spent on this 48 km new four-lane and it will also pass through 29 villages of Indore-Ujjain and these areas will also be developed, in which there are only 9 villages of Ujjain, while 20 villages of Indore district will be included. As soon as the DPR is prepared, it will be sent to the government for approval and then along with starting the tender process, land acquisition will also start. This road will be built from the airport to Pitru Parvat and from there to Chintamani Ganesh of Ujjain. This will also enable one to reach Ujjain directly from the airport and will save time. Now even those coming from the airport have to cross the Super Corridor, reach Lavkush Chauraha and then go to Ujjain.
