Traffic from the other side has also started from the flyover constructed at Rau junction of four important roads including bypass and Indore-Khalghat highway.

This has been done. From Thursday, vehicles going from Indore bypass towards Indore-Khalghat four-lane highway started passing through the newly built flyover.

Last Friday, half of the Rau flyover was opened for traffic. At that time, the other half could not be opened because the asphalting work was incomplete there. Then the officers had said that the remaining half would also be opened for the people by the end of December. With this important facility, vehicles coming from the bypass towards Khalghat highway will be able to cross the Rau junction without any hindrance. The flyover will reduce the problem of traffic jam at the intersection to a great extent. Apart from both the highways, Rau-Pithampur and urban AB road also meet at Rau junction.

Expenditure of Rs 43 crore

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) started the work on this flyover more than two years ago. Its cost is Rs 43 crore and the width is six lanes. The Rau Bridge is special because it rests on a row of single pillars.
