There is good news for around 68,000 vehicles and nearly 2 lakh people who travel daily on the Indore–Dewas bypass. After nearly four years and a cost of about ₹80 crore, the Arjun Baroda and Ramamandal flyovers are set to open in the next two days.
From Monday morning, a one-hour trial run will begin on the Arjun Baroda Bridge, while the official inauguration of the Ramamandal Bridge will take place on Tuesday at 4 PM.
Traffic will stop again after one week, top layer of asphalt to be laid
Currently, only a trial run is being conducted on the Arjun Baroda flyover. After one week, traffic will again be stopped for a few days to lay the top asphalt layer on the bridge. Once the work is completed, it will finally be opened permanently.
The project has taken about 40–40 months to complete. After these two bridges open, a large section of the bypass will become free from traffic jams.
The trial run of the Arjun Baroda Bridge will take place on Monday morning. MP Shankar Lalwani, Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silawat, and BJP District President Shravan Singh Chawda will also be present.
Indore–Dewas–Bhopal travel will become easier
- The distance between Indore and Dewas is only 35 km, but currently vehicles take nearly two hours.
- Heavy traffic jams occur every day during peak office hours.
- The flyover opening will save around 20 minutes.
- Another bridge is also under construction on the Dewas side of this route, which is currently causing some problems, but the Arjun Baroda bridge will provide immediate relief.
- Travel from Indore to Ujjain will also become easier because earlier the bridge was built only up to the new road.
In the massive traffic jam, 3 lives were lost; service road will improve
Due to the flyover construction work, all traffic has currently been diverted to the service road. The condition of the road has deteriorated, and long traffic jams occur every evening.
In June last year, a 36-hour mega traffic jam occurred near the Arjun Baroda Bridge, causing the deaths of 3 people. After that, the service road was repaired temporarily, but conditions worsened again. Now, after traffic starts on the bridge, repair work on the service road will begin.
