Traffic congestion between Khajrana and Radisson on Ring Road will be eased, and commuters will get relief from frequent traffic jams.

A six-lane flyover costing approximately ₹50 crore will be constructed at Robot Square on Ring Road. This announcement was made by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and MLA Mahendra Hardia.

The flyover will provide relief from the recurring traffic jams between Khajrana and Radisson Square. Additionally, a service road will be constructed parallel to the Ring Road, benefiting thousands of nearby residents.

The Chief Minister had earlier announced this project during the foundation ceremony for road development works.

Flyover to be Built in the Green Belt Area

The flyover will be constructed in the central green belt area of Ring Road, where the metro corridor is also planned. The metro station near Robot Square will remain unaffected.

The proposed structure will be built over the existing green belt and service road area. According to MLA Mahendra Hardia, a DPR (Detailed Project Report) has been prepared and submitted. Work is expected to begin soon.

Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya was also present during discussions regarding the project.

Relief for Around 50 Colonies

The project will benefit residents of approximately 50 colonies, including:

  • Tulsi Nagar
  • Mahalaxmi Nagar
  • Vaibhav Nagar
  • Vijay Nagar extension areas
  • Rajiv Gandhi Square region

More than 1.70 lakh commuters who travel daily through this stretch are expected to benefit.

Possibility of Another Flyover at Radisson

Authorities are also considering a flyover or underpass at Radisson Square, as traffic pressure there has increased due to metro construction.

Since the metro corridor passes through Robot Square, planning has been done carefully to avoid any conflict with metro infrastructure. Similar solutions may be considered near the BRTS and MR-10 corridors.

After the construction of the flyover, Ring Road will become almost signal-free from Rajiv Gandhi Square to Bombay Hospital Square. This will significantly reduce travel time and traffic congestion.

The Khajrana–Bengali Square–Robot Square corridor is among the busiest routes in Indore, and the new flyover is expected to make commuting much smoother for residents and daily travellers.
