In such a situation, VIPs and VVIPs have to take flight before it gets dark. Expansion of the airstrip is proposed from Simhastha-2016, work on which can now start. For this the surrounding land will be acquired. A green field airport will be built on this. It is also proposed to build an airport in Sadawal, for which officials have inspected the site. Datana- In the second phase of development of Matana airstrip, landing of aircraft with seating capacity of about 180 can be started. Its work will be done after the completion of the first phase. A target has been set to complete the works of both the phases before Simhastha-2028. Work will be done under this.
International level facilities will be provided
At present there is a 1077 meter long and 23 meter wide runway, which will be expanded to provide international level facilities. This will not only increase the ease of movement of devotees coming from India and abroad but will also lead to growth in trade.
