Wide highway with green surroundings and flowered divider, enhancing connectivity between Indore and Ujjain

In view of the pressure of devotees in Simhastha 2028, another alternative route will be prepared between Indore and Ujjain. This two-lane road will start from Chandragupta Maurya Square on MR-10 and will meet Ujjain-Dewas Road via Jassa, Karadia on Bhangya-Shakarkhedi Road. This part will be 40 km long. The distance from Ujjain to where this road meets Ujjain-Dewas Road will be 20 km.

This road will be built through villages parallel to Indore-Ujjain road. The 40 km long road from Chandragupta Maurya Square to Bolasa will be a two-lane road. A DPR worth Rs 140 crore has been prepared for this. 75% of the area has an existing road, where a new road will be built. In the remaining 25%, a new road will have to be built. Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat has asked Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh to give approval for the road soon.

    A new road will pass through here, it will be built parallel to the existing road
    From Chandragupta Maurya crossing on MR-10, this road will connect to Dewas-Ujjain road near Bolasa via Jassa, Karadia, Bajrang Palia, Dhankhedi, Mundla Hussain, Shahna, Guran, Jamodi, Simrod and Hirli on Bhangya-Shakarkhedi road. From here, Ujjain can be reached directly in 20 km via Chandesari. In this way, this 60 km alternative route will be made to go to Ujjain.

    Carriageway and footpath will also be constructed

    Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Surya Narayan Soni said that carriage-way and footpath will also be constructed. A 30 feet wide road will be built. We have written a letter to the government. Work will start as soon as approval is received. During Simhastha, apart from the bypass and Indore-Ujjain road, this road can also be used to reach Ujjain in less time. Most of the road falls in Sanwer assembly and some part in Ujjain district.

    Indore-Ujjain road is being made six lane

    The existing Indore-Ujjain road is being made six lane. Its work is going on in different parts. Currently 22% work has been completed. The deadline for this project worth Rs 650 crore is January 2027. On normal days 35 to 40 thousand vehicles ply on Indore-Ujjain road. In Sawan this number crosses 70 to 80 thousand. Whereas during Simhastha there will be pressure of more than one lakh vehicles every day.
