The work of underground track for 8.5 km from airport to Palasia will start from January. Its cost will be Rs. 2500 crores. 6 companies have come forward for this work. GST of Rs. 50 crores is separate from the cost of Rs. 2550 crores. MD of Metro Rail Corporation S. Krishna Chaitanya has formed a team to start the work soon.
Metro Corporation GM Ajay Kumar said that the technical bid has been opened. If everything goes well, the financial bid will be opened. The effort is to issue the LOA by the last week of December. We will be in a position to start work in January. All the companies that have come have long experience of working on metro projects. This tender for the metro project is for an underground corridor in the central area of the city. This corridor will go from the airport to Kalani Nagar, Bada Ganpati, Ramchandra Nagar to Palasia on MG Road. Its length is 8.626 kilometers. Tunnels and 7 metro stations will be built.

The first phase of the metro is 32.5 km long. It is to be built from Gandhi Nagar, Super Corridor, MR-10 via Vijay Nagar, Radisson to Robot Square, Bengali Square, Palasia, MG Road to the airport. Out of this, the work of elevated corridor of metro is going on on a part of 17.5 km. Elevated and underground from Robot Square to Palasia.
There is a problem regarding this. That is why the Metro Corporation is going to start work from Airport to Palasia soon. Right now the work of the elevated corridor from Gandhi Nagar to Robot Square is going on at a fast pace. In January 2025, the commercial run of the metro will start in 6 km from Gandhi Nagar to TCS Square on the Super Corridor. The safety trial of the metro coach has also been done.
6 companies have come forward, including a Turkish company.
6 companies have come forward for the underground track from the airport to Palasia. These include a Turkish construction company. Afcon Infra Limited, J Kumar Indra Project Limited, HCC Limited, Gulermoq, Ve Tahat AS, L&T and ITD have shown interest in the work.
