Indore.

The most important issue at the Indore development meeting to be held today in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is the underground metro train from Bengali Square to Palasia Square. If the decision to underground the train on this route is made today, it will take at least one year for work to begin.

Indore’s metro train project has been stalled due to construction obstructing the metro train between Bengali Square and Palasia Square. Continuous efforts were being made to remove this obstacle. When it became clear that there was no way out, the state’s Additional Chief Secretary, Sanjay Dubey, recently intervened.

In a meeting chaired by Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, a proposal was approved to move the metro train underground from Bengali Square to Palasia Square. Implementing this decision would cost an additional ₹900 crore. To reduce this cost, it has been decided to eliminate the previously proposed stations at Journalist Colony Square and Chhota Ganpati. Eliminating these two stations alone reduces the cost of the previous project by ₹700 crore. The project will now be presented to the Chief Minister today. Chaitanya, Managing Director of the Metro Rail Company, is also attending the meeting to ensure a decision on this project. The decision was made after presenting the entire situation to the Chief Minister.

If the decision to make this route underground is made today, it will take at least a year for the Metro Train Company to begin implementing this decision. Railway company officials stated that it will have to complete a thorough process, such as terminating the existing contract, preparing a new project, getting the project approved, preparing a tender for it, and finalizing an agency. This route is 4 kilometers long, so its tender will cost ₹1600 crore, of which civil work alone will cost ₹800 crore. The decision to be taken in today’s meeting will be crucial for accelerating the operation of the Metro Train in Indore. Now everyone’s eyes are on this meeting and the decisions taken in it.
