Under the Smart City scheme, the Municipal Corporation has declared AB Road as a Green Corridor. With a view to improving traffic, this will be called a Green Corridor from Scheme 78 to Naulakha Chauraha. Apart from Scheme 78, it includes Rasoma Chauraha, MR 9, LIG, Industry House, Guitar Tiraha, Palasia, Geeta Bhawan, Shivaji Vatika, GPO, Indira Statue and Naulakha Chauraha. All these intersections are fully connected to Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS). If the drivers drive at the prescribed speed, they will get a green signal at every intersection. This will reduce travel time and save fuel. Pollution will also reduce.
AB Road, which has been declared a Green Corridor.
This was the plan for 50 crossings, but it could not be completed.
ITMS has been used in this project. It synchronizes the traffic lights at the scheduled time. This will keep the speed of vehicles smooth on major routes. The corporation and the Smart City Project team have taken this initiative keeping in mind the convenience of the city residents. This will prove to be a big step towards making Indore a smart and disciplined city. It is known that there was a plan to connect 50 intersections of the city with ITMS, but due to the construction of flyovers and other construction works, some intersections have been removed from the project.
