RNT and MG Road will become the first cable-free roads in the city. The corporation has started a campaign for this. 19 cable operators have been called for a meeting and given instructions. They have been asked to remove the bundles of wires hanging on the electricity poles. Once the corporation’s removal staff has also confiscated 10 trolleys of wires.

Recently, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma, Electricity Department in-charge and MIC member Jeetu Yadav discussed with the representatives of cable operators, mobile companies and internet companies and gave them two days to prepare the SOP. They also said that whatever SOP is made, but unused cables should be removed. In the first phase, the Municipal Corporation has taken up 5 roads under this project, where bundles of wires on electricity poles will be removed.

Accidents happen due to cables hanging on poles

MIC member Yadav said that people fall victim to accidents due to wires hanging on poles. We have been raising this issue for two years. Operators hang 100 bundles each on the poles of the electricity company. It is not known which bundles belong to which company. It is also difficult to decide which ones are useless and which ones are useful.
