Land acquisition for the western part of the new Outer Ring Road (Eastern and Western Bypass) will begin from Friday. The administration has made preparations. Some teams have also been formed, which will talk to the farmers and take the acquisition process forward. The National Highway Authority of India has already appointed a company for the western part three months ago.

Ahmedabad based company MKC Infrastructure will build it in two parts. Rs 1880 crore will be spent on the project only for construction. The western part will start from Khandwa village ahead of the bypass toll on AB Road and will be built up to Shipra via Sanwer. This 64 km long part is also divided into two parts. One part is of 34 km from Khandwa village to Hatod and the other part is of 30 km till Hatod. On Thursday, Shipra officials from the company met Collector Ashish Singh and informed him about their preparations to start the project.

This road is very important, everyone will do it with consent

Outer ring road is very important from the point of view of Indore’s vision document-2047. The company has been decided. NHAI will do the monitoring. The administration is going to start land acquisition. We will move forward in this project only with consent. Full compensation is also to be given. Ashish Singh, Collector
