ID will solve traffic problems on MR-10.
Everyone is troubled by the traffic problem in the city. Thousands of people get stuck in traffic jams every day.
There is delay in going to work. This problem is also very big on MR-10. To reduce this, Indore Development Authority (IDA) is making a plan. For this, it will keep an experienced consultant with it, who will work to improve traffic at five places of MR-10. There is a lot of movement of vehicles at these spots, due to which the traffic situation worsens several times a day. The work here will be done in two parts. In the first part, there will be a complete inspection of the roads and intersections. In the second part, a complete plan will be made to fix them. With the plan of IDA, people’s daily journey will be easy. Their time will be saved. The roads will be safe.
The city is growing rapidly. Vehicles are increasing along with the population. Crowds at intersections have become a common sight. At the same time, work on the metro train route is going on at some places on MR-10 and Ring Road. In such a situation, if these spots are not fixed, then jams and accidents will increase. That is why IDA has brought this plan. Under the project, consultants will first inspect the roads thoroughly and prepare a report. Then they will give several options on how to fix the intersections. IDA will choose the best one out of them.
After selecting the option, the work will start. Later, the consultant will get the soil tested. He will prepare the design and the cost calculation.
These spots will be designed
- Intersection of MR-12 and MR-10, near Lavkush square.
- Intersection of Jain Mandir Road and MR-10 near Kumedhi.
- Junction of MR-4 and RW-1, near ISBT and Metro station at Kumedy.
- Vijay Nagar intersection.
- The route around ISBT and Metro station at Kumedhi.
How will the work be done; First the roads will be inspected, we will tell where the flyover is necessary?In the first phase, the roads will be thoroughly inspected by a consultant.
1. The consultant will conduct a survey to see how the roads are? How wide are they? What are the surroundings, like buildings, water lines, electric poles, drains, trees, footpaths etc. They will also check how many vehicles come and go? What kind of traffic jams occur in the morning and evening? Where do people walk? Where does water accumulate in the rain? All these checks will be done for three days, which will also include a holiday.
After this the consultant will prepare the map.
This will include information on the condition of roads, traffic patterns, pedestrian needs and where bus stops can be built. They will also see how to connect the metro station and ISBT so that people can easily go from one place to another. Then they will give many suggestions. Like signals should be installed at intersections. Where is a flyover necessary? They will tell the advantages and disadvantages of every suggestion and choose the best option.
2. In the first phase, how will the signals be installed at the intersections? How wide will the roads be? Where will the turns be? How will the crossings or footpaths be made for pedestrians? They will also see to it that vehicles can turn easily? Should there be no traffic jams? There should be clear markings and signboards on the road. Rainwater should not accumulate. For this, a plan for drains will be made. Along with this, there will be arrangements for lights, bus stops and greenery at some places. They will tell how much it will cost to do all this.

There will be less traffic jam at these intersections. Vehicles will move faster, which will save people’s time.

Metro stations and ISBTs will be well connected so that people can easily catch a bus to metro or a metro to bus. There will be proper signals, markings and lights on the roads, which will make driving easier.
Water will not accumulate at the intersections during the rains because there will be proper drainage system. There will be good lighting on the roads and greenery at some places.
Further work will be done after receiving the consultant’s report
These are the major intersections of the city, where there is a lot of traffic pressure. To ensure smooth and safe traffic in the future, these intersections will be redesigned and redeveloped. A consultant has been appointed for this. Further work will be done after his report comes.
