Indore. Western Railway is now preparing to conduct a separate tender process to build a new station building at Lakshmibai Nagar. Earlier this work was to be done under the Indore-Ujjain Railway Line Doubling Project, but since a bigger station building has to be built than before, preparations are being made to call a separate tender. Before the assembly elections, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, after visiting Lakshmibai Nagar station, had announced to develop it as a world class station. After that, Ratlam Railway Board has prepared a plan worth more than Rs 400 crore and sent it to the board. At present, efforts are being made to get the same approved at the ministry level. The project will be approved sometime in February or March.
Tenders will be called before the code of conduct is imposed
Sources said that the effort has been made to invite tenders for the redevelopment of both the stations before the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, so that after the elections, they can be approved and the field work can be started.
