One lakh kilometer long roads will be built with 500 flyovers.
The new government in the state has started working on its five-year agenda. Its review meeting is being taken by the Chief Minister, while on the other hand special emphasis is being laid on infrastructure. Along with constructing one lakh kilometer long roads, 500 flyovers will be built on major roads across the state and an amount of more than Rs 10 thousand crore will be spent on these. Half a dozen expressways will also be included in this. Ring roads are also proposed to be constructed in major cities including Indore.
Divisional review is being conducted by the Chief Minister and today Bhoomi Pujan and inauguration of development works worth Rs 320 crore are being done in Rewa division also. On the other hand, according to Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh, infrastructure work will be expedited across the state, so that along with the road network, important roads including flyovers, railway overbridges can be constructed in all major cities. Proposed ring roads will be constructed in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain and half a dozen expressways will also be ready. More than 500 overbridges, including small and big, will be built, in which projects of urban bodies, authorities, Public Works Department, National Highways and other departments will be included. All these works of Infrastructor are done within the time limit under the time bound action plan.
Will be completed and there will be no compromise with quality. A separate cell is being formed to monitor these and assembly-wise plans will be prepared on the basis of suggestions from public representatives. New technologies will be used in the road network and the old roads will also be improved with the use of recycled materials. The SOR and departmental handbook of the department was also released by the minister yesterday, in which the Road Development Corporation and the departmental principal secretary and other top officials were also present. An 8-lane elevated leg corridor will be built parallel to VIP Road in Bhopal. Besides, bypass will also be constructed in western Bhopal. Pithampur industrial area from Mandideep will also be connected to it.
