Ambikapuri Extension Road T&CP officers heard 190 objections in 2 days, residents said- if the alignment is not changed then we will be ruined.
Ambikapuri Extension Road connecting Airport Thana to MR-5 will be 30 meters wide. Currently the width is 12 meters. The proposal to increase the width was sent to T&CP by the Municipal Corporation. The hearing of claims and objections on this was held in the Collectorate on Wednesday as well. 198 objections were received by Town and Country Planning. Collector Ashish Singh, T&CP Joint Director Dr. Shubhashish Banerjee and his team heard the matter. Dr. Banerjee said that this road is narrow right now. It has to be widened in the master plan. Claims and objections were called for this. All parties have been heard. Now the proposal will get further approval, then it will be decided how wide it should be kept and whether the alignment should be changed or not.
This road was earlier going from the right turn in front of the police station to the back of Ambikapuri Extension. The objectors said that there is government land behind it, which has been lying vacant for years. If the road is taken out from there as before, then no one will suffer much loss. Barely 20-25 constructions will be demolished. The road ahead is narrow and hundreds of houses and shops will be demolished to widen the road from here. The objectors alleged that this road proposed on the government khasra has been changed and made through the middle of the settlement.
Many townships are also on this road, they have approval from T&CP
Some objectors in the Collectorate demanded to see the map of the proposed road. Some societies also raised objections on the land. Some said that there are many townships on this road going up to MR-5 including Ambikapuri Extension, which have been approved by T&CP itself. People said that we also pay house tax. Now if the road becomes 30 meters wide, then even our houses will not be saved and we will be ruined. Assistant Director KS Gawli, Sarang Gupta were present in the hearing.
Now after the pipe factory, there is a wide road directly from the super corridor
The road which is proposed to be 30 meters wide from in front of the Airport police station will meet Saroj Vatika on MR-5. Currently, a road is going from the pipe factory via Sangam Nagar. After this, the current road connecting MR-5 is narrow. Further ahead, the Airport Road directly joins at the Super Corridor intersection. Many newly developed colonies will benefit from the widening of this road.
