The district administration has prepared two plans for the Indore Metropolitan Region. In the first option, a total area of 6631 sq km of Indore, Ujjain, Dewas and Dhar districts has been included. In the second option, the same four districts are included but the area is 7863 sq km. In both the options, Indore district has the largest share. If we look at the average, about 3450 sq km area of Indore, 1500 sq km area of Dhar, 1050 sq km area of Dewas and about 800 sq km area of Ujjain have been included in it. The main reason for creating a metropolitan region is the planned development of Indore and the surrounding suburban areas. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has seen its presentation. These organizations had raised the demand
Indore Utthan Samiti, CEPRD, Abhyas Mandal, Indore Development Foundation, Ahilya Chamber of Commerce, FICCI and other industrial associations. Apart from this, the European Union team had stated its need in the year 2021.
