Preparations have begun to open three lanes of Rau flyover for one-way vehicles. Any day this week, vehicles going from Khalghat to Indore bypass will be started. A six-lane flyover has been built at Rau junction of Indore bypass and Indore-Khalghat highway.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials said that as far as possible, three lanes of the flyover will be opened for vehicles within a day or two. The last layer of asphalt has been laid on these lanes. Now the same work will be done on the second lane, after which vehicles going from Indore bypass towards Khalghat will be allowed to move on the flyover.
The lane of the bridge will also be opened for vehicles. The target is to complete this work by the end of December. Apart from the last layer of asphalt, all the work of the bridge has been completed. This flyover, costing about Rs 30 crore, is being built for two years. Its special feature is that the flyover rests on a row of single pillars.
The formal inauguration will take place later
According to the officers, the project will be started without inauguration so that people get relief. The formal inauguration of the bypass constructed at Tikitghat will be done separately in Bhiga.
